State Secretary for Regional Development
Péter Szaló was born in 1954 in Hungary. He studied architecture at the University of Technology in Budapest which was supplemented later by a degree in economics. Peter Szaló started his career as a planner and researcher but in 1990 he joined the Hungarian public administration.
He has been acting as state secretary responsible for regional development for more than 15 years. Beside this topic, he is also responsible for the portfolio of spatial planning and construction. Mr. Szaló played a leading role in the accession negotiation of Hungary to the European Union.
Due to his long career in his office, Mr. Szaló enjoys excellent national and international reputation. He is the author of several articles on regional devlopment and also the member of various professional organisations.
