Makoto Taketoshi
Vice-Minister, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism                             

 

Mr. Makoto Taketoshi was born in 1949 and is Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. He was appointed to this position in July, 2007. Prior to this position, he served in a number of important posts at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Construction, including Deputy Vice-Minister of Minister’s Secretariat, Director-General of Policy Bureau, Director-General of City and Regional Development Bureau.

 

Mr. Taketoshi's professional experiences cover urban / regional / national planning, public investment policies, public procurement reforms, construction industry policies and national / local government relations. He has been active internationally and was engaged in an OECD project “The Ad Hoc Group on Urban Problems” as Japanese representative for three years from its establishment in 1980.  In 1972 he graduated from Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo and entered Ministry of Construction. He holds M. Phil. in Economics from the Oxford University.
