The OECD Factbook is the best-selling, innovative title from the OECD.  It provides a global overview of today’s major economic, social and environmental indicators, presenting them clearly and concisely, and in a range of user-friendly formats.

4 new features for 2008

  • Extended coverage
More countries than ever are now covered by the Factbook, enabling direct comparisons for many indicators between OECD Members and Brazil, China, India and South Africa.  In addition, StatLinks below every table and graph contain further data in Excel™ about the other countries currently going through the OECD accession process – Chile, Estonia, Israel, Slovenia and Russian Federation.
  • Special chapter on Productivity
This year’s special focus is on productivity, how efficiently production inputs - such as labour and capital - are being used.  The chapter is timely because productivity is considered a key source of economic growth and competitiveness.
  • Enhanced, animated presentation of data
Users can now interact with the data more intuitively.  The dynamic software facilitates the identification of long term trends and comparisons between countries.
  • 1Gb USB key
The latest addition to the Factbook family is this useful tool.  Loaded with all the relevant files and documents, as well as the OECD in Figures (www.oecd.org/infigures), it is completely portable, with plenty of space for users to save their own documents.

As well as the USB key, the traditional print version is available for purchase. The web book continues to be free online via SourceOECD (the OECD’s online library).  The OECD Factbook has firmly established itself as a key reference for anyone interested to know "where we are" and "where we are going" in terms of social, economic and environmental development.
