PISA for Development Database

Download Information and Instructions

From this page you can download the PISA for Development dataset with the full set of responses from individual students, school principals and teachers that participated in the school-based assessment. The PISA for Development out-of-school assessment results will be available late 2019.
These files will be of use to statisticians and professional researchers who would like to undertake their own analysis of the PISA for Development data. The files available on this page include questionnaires, codebooks, data files in SAS™ and SPSS™ formats, database compendia and tables including system-level data and descriptive analyses that were created to support the reporting of PISA for Development results by participating countries.

There are four main data files: the student-questionnaire data file (which also includes estimates of student performance), the school-questionnaire data file, the teacher-questionnaire data file and the cognitive item data file. These files include data for the seven countries that participated in the PISA for Development in-school administration (Cambodia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Senegal and Zambia).

Some of these files are large. The time it takes to download the larger files, and how successfully the files download, will depend on your local Internet connection and other technical factors.

Reporting tables and system-level data

These tables, available in Excel format, were developed to support the reporting of PISA for Development results and to facilitate comparisons with the PISA 2015 Database. They include system-level indicators based on those developed by the OECD INES programme for the annual Education at a Glance publication, which were collected through a special system-level data collection conducted in collaboration with PISA for Development National Project Managers.
