Governments are increasingly called upon to respond to a variety of concerns raised
by society in many areas such as the environment, animal welfare and food safety.
And they are asked to do so in a coherent manner. To address any market imperfections,
governments have a number of options available to intervene, including regulatory,
subsidy or tax based measures.
The 2012 Meeting of the National Focal Points for Policy Coherence for Development takes place on 7 November. It will focus on new narratives in the global economy.
The 2012 Meeting of the National Focal Points for Policy Coherence for Development took place on 9 February 2012. It focused on food security. It also considered institutional mechanisms for promoting PCD, and taking forward work on impact assessment and monitoring of PCD.
