The OECD is developing a Strategy based on a comprehensive and inclusive approach to development, and strengthened policy dialogue and knowledge sharing as well as effective partnerships. The HLF4 in Busan provides a unique opportunity to present the broader approach proposed by the OECD and share views on the progress in the preparation of the Strategy. The OECD would like to invite partner countries and organisations to comment on this initiative and has organised the following related events during the HLF4:

• Consultation meeting with partner countries at 17:00 – 18:30 on day 1 (29 November), moderated by Amb. Kyung Wook Hur, Korea’s Permanent Representative to the OECD and with the participation of OECD senior officials;
• Special high-level meeting on the OECD Strategy on Development at 11:30 - 13:00 on day 2 (30 November), co-hosted by the OECD Secretary-General (read his speech), Angel Gurría, and the Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Kim Sung-whan, with a panel discussion with high-level representatives from partner countries and international organisations, including the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; and
• Consultation meeting with CSOs at 13:30 – 15:00 on day 2 (30 November), moderated by Amb. Kyung Wook Hur, Korea’s Permanent Representative to the OECD and with the participation of OECD senior officials.

These consultations are part of a larger public consultation that has been taking place since September 2011.
