The sixth meeting of the Latin American Competition Forum will be held in Panama, on 10-11 September 2008. The agenda includes discussions on: i) Competition Provisions In Regional Trade Agreements; and ii) The Role Of Economic Analysis In Judicial Decisions. El Salvador will be subject to a Peer Review of Competition Law and Policy. Finally, updates will be provided on two OECD Projects In Latin America: i) Reducing Bid Rigging in Brazil and Chile; and ii) the OECD Competition Assessment Toolkit In Mexico.
The Forum promotes dialogue, consensus building and networking between competition policymakers and law enforcers, and the identification and dissemination of best practices in competition law and policy in a collegial setting. Emphasis is on sharing experience.
Participants are senior officials of Latin American competition institutions. Competition experts from OECD countries and international organisations are included to provide additional perspectives and experience.
