Country Information

 

West Africa is composed of 18 countries stretching from Cape Verde in the western part of the continent to Chad in the east. The region includes fifteen countries that are members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) plus Cameroon, Chad and Mauritania. It covers a surface area of 7,800,000 km², equivalent to 2.5 times that of the European Union and approximately 85% of Canada or the United States.
