Global relations programmes

The OECD has constantly expanded its co-operation with economies outside its membership:  South-East EuropeCentral and Eastern Europe, the CaucasusAsiaLatin AmericaAfrica and the Middle East. Based on mutual influence and partnerships, co-operation with non-members has become an integral part of the Organisation’s work, covering all policy areas. The Centre for Co-operation with Non-Members (CCNM) aims to ensure that the OECD’s relations with non-members develop in a co-ordinated manner and in line with the OECD’s agreed strategic objectives.

Non-members can co-operate with the OECD in many ways: while OECD Directorates conduct co-operative activities in/on non-member economies, non-members are also actively involved in core OECD work and processes. Non-members have for instance the possibility to adhere to some OECD instruments and to participate as observers and in some cases even as full participants in formal OECD bodies. The CCNM assists non-members to discover the numerous opportunities open to them for closer co-operation with the OECD. It is the non-members’ principal contact point to the OECD.  > more
