Senior tax policy officials from the MENA region and OECD countries met on 28-29 January 2009 in Paris at OECD headquarters to dialogue on the implementation of tax policies supportive of economic development, including exchanges of views on alternative approaches, and experience with specific policy measures.

Investment Promotion and Media Training Programme for the Iraqi National Investment Commission

The training was the second in a series of training activities organised by the MENA-OECD programme in the framework of the Iraq project. Fostering Entrepreneurship through Proactive Policies

The first meeting of the MENA-OECD Working Group on SME Policy, Entrepreneurship and Human Capital Development was held back-to-back with the 4th meeting of the MENA-OECD Enterprise Financing Network.  Participants discussed horizontal policies relating to SMEs, including policies for high-growth enterprises, access to finance and skills development, in addition to debating the effects of the global financial and economic crisis on the region.

MENA-OECD Working Group on Corporate Governance

MENA Business addresses corporate responsibility

The first meeting of the Regional Task Force on Responsible Business Conduct took place in Cairo on 26 October. Participants discussed concrete initiatives for engaging in responsible business conduct and strengthening partnerships in the MENA region, focusing particularly on fighting corruption, education and employment standards, environment and health.
