Regional approaches

 

Regionally-focused activities are a necessary complement to the OECD Global Forums, attracting smaller and more homogeneous constituencies. They permit a sharper focus on region-specific issues and the monitoring and implementation of the principles dealt with by the Forums.

Specific Country Programmes are also linked up to OECD’s regional activities. OECD's regional approaches aim to support regional relays in implementing OECD’s policies and practices. Regional partners such as regional development banks and other international organisations therefore play an important role in the implementation of OECD’s regional activities. OECD Directorates work together with governments in the region and regional partners in the context of existing or emerging regional initiatives. The CCNM team helps to ensure that regional activities contribute to the overall objectives of each regional approach.
