Ms. Rosemary BANKS

From 2009, until her nomination as Ambassador to France and Permanent Representative of New Zealand to the OECD, Ambassador Banks was Acting Deputy Secretary for Multilateral Affairs. From 2005 to 2009, she was Ambassador and Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.

In 2000 Ms. Banks headed the then Development Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Previous third tier positions in the Ministry included North Asia Division.

Ms. Banks served as Deputy High Commissioner to Australia and previously to Solomon Islands. Earlier postings were to New York and Geneva.

Ms. Banks holds a Masters degree in Russian from Canterbury University and a Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics.

Ambassador Rosemary Banks took up her duties as Permanent Representative of New Zealand to the OECD on 1 September 2010.
