07/11/2018 - Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will hold a press briefing at the OECD in Paris at 18.00 on Friday 9 November 2018 following his meeting with OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría.
Their talks will focus on the Global Deal for Decent Work and Inclusive Growth, an international partnership initiated by Prime Minister Löfven and developed in co-operation with the OECD and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) as a concrete input to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The multi-stakeholder partnership aims to foster social dialogue as a way of promoting better-quality jobs and fairer working conditions.
Prime Minister Löfven will hand over to the Secretary-General Gurría an updated list of the now close to 100 stakeholders representing governments, business, trade unions and civil society organisations across the world participating in the Global Deal.
The Initiative is centered on: (i) accelerating action on the ground in favour of effective social dialogue and responsible business conduct; (ii) developing research; and (iii) sharing knowledge and good practice.
A Global Deal unit will be hosted by the OECD from the end of 2018 to support partners of the initiative. The Global Deal is also one of the projects that will be showcased at the Paris Peace Forum from the 11-13 November 2018.
The press briefing with Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and Secretary-General Angel Gurría will be held at the OECD, 2 rue André Pascal, 75016 Paris.
