Angel Gurría addressed the importance of local initiatives and regional development in helping countries adapt to the challenges of globalisation and technological change in his speech delivered at the Danish Growth Council.
OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría emphasised the importance of vocational training and education, and highlighted the OECD’s role in developing policies and identifying best practices in these areas.
In a speech at the Annual Conference of the Club de Madrid, Angel Gurría focussed on the political economy of climate policies. He spoke about a range of policies that could be used to help address climate change, and the considerable challenges of implementing them.
In his speech delivered to the meeting of G8 Employment and Labour Ministers in Moscow on 9-10 October 2006, Angel Gurría spoke about the reassessed Jobs Strategy, what has been learnt, and emerging challenges.
Angel Gurría focussed on the role of global governance in crisis prevention in this speech, which was delivered at the "Conference of Foreign Affairs Committee and Development Committee Chairpersons of the European Union Member Countries" in Finland, on 28 September 2006.
