The OECD today invited Chile to become its first member in South America. Chile will formally accept this invitation when an Accession Agreement is signed in the presence of Secretary-General Angel Gurría and President Bachelet on 11 January 2010 in Santiago.

The global steel industry is gradually emerging from one of its worst downturns in decades. Despite some improvement in market conditions, the steel industry still faces challenging years ahead.
OECD countries and the eight others who have signed the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention have committed to stepping up their fight against bribery and corruption, putting in place new measures that will reinforce their efforts to prevent, detect and investigate foreign bribery.
