04/04/14 - The OECD will publish a Telecommunication Review and an Environmental Performance Review of Colombia on April 9 and 10 respectively. The reviews examine competition and regulation in Colombia’s telecoms market and assess its environmental policies and performance. Both will feed into talks on Colombia’s accession to the OECD.
The OECD’s head of Information, Communications and Consumer Policy, Anne Carblanc, will present the Telecommunication Review at 11:00 on Wednesday 9 April at the Hotel Estelar Windsor House, Calle 95 No. 9-97 and will take questions from the media afterwards. Journalists may also attend earlier speeches from 9:00 from Colombia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Diego Molano Vega, and the CRC telecommunications regulator’s Executive Director, Pablo Márquez.
Journalists should contact the CRC’s press office for further details or to register attendance.
The OECD’s Environment Director Simon Upton will present the Environmental Review at a press conference on Thursday 10 April at the presidential palace in Bogota (time TBC). Colombian Environment Minister Luz Helena Sarmiento Villamizar will also be present.
Journalists should register with Jaime Eduardo Sarmiento at the environment ministry.
To request advance copies of either report under embargo, journalists should email Catherine Bremer in the OECD’s Media Division. The reports can also be accessed on the day on the OECD's password-protected website for OECD-registered media.
