OECD and China expand cooperation in PISA education programme

25/08/2014 - The OECD and China have announced that they will expand their cooperation in PISA, following the successful implementation of PISA 2009 and 2012 in Shanghai.

The provinces of Beijing, Jiangsu and Guangdong will take part in the 2015 survey, in addition to Shanghai.

“This is excellent news that China is increasing its involvement in the OECD’s PISA programme,” said OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría. “It also marks another step in China’s growing collaboration with the OECD.”

As was the case with Shanghai’s participation practised in last two rounds of the surveys, China’s participation in PISA2015 will be conducted in full accordance with PISA sampling procedures and standards of international comparability, as is the case for all participants.
