03/04/2013 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 1.8% in the year to February 2013, compared with 1.7% in the year to January 2013. This slight increase in the annual rate of inflation masks opposing movements in energy and food prices. Energy price inflation accelerated to 3.4% in February, up from 1.8% in January, while food price inflation slowed to 1.8% in February, compared with 2.1% in January. Excluding food and energy, the OECD annual inflation rate was broadly stable at 1.6% in February.
