OECD annual inflation slightly picks up to 1.5% in May 2013

02/07/2013 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 1.5% in the year to May 2013 compared with 1.3% in the year to April 2013. This slight increase in the annual rate of inflation was mainly driven by energy prices which increased to 0.5% in May, compared with minus 1.3% in the year to April. Food price inflation was broadly stable at 1.9% in May. Excluding food and energy, the OECD annual inflation rate also rose to 1.5% in May, compared with 1.4% in April.
