Ce Forum organisé conjointement par l'OCDE, FIT et le ministère mexicain de l'Environnement examinera les principales tendances dans le domaine des transports, à la fois dans les grandes zones urbaines et celles touchées par une économie en voie de mondialisation, avec un accent particulier sur les évolutions en Amérique Latine. Il abordera également les problèmes environnementaux et les politiques de l’environnement qui peuvent être utilisées pour réduire les impacts négatifs. The following document is the Draft Progress Report to the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the GHS: Terrestrial Environmental Hazards and will focus on hazard based classification. There is other information on classification and labelling in the Annex for some countries on specific taxonomic groups (e.g.: arthropods, micro-organisms or plants), but as it is not clear that it is hazard based.

This document presents a proposal for a precautionary statement for ozone depleting chemicals, and for codes for the hazard and precautionary statements, as well as for consequential amendments. The proposal for classification and labeling of ozone depleting chemicals was sent to the UN Sub-Committee secretariat for submission to the July 2008 Sub-Committee meeting.

This material can be freely used for training purposes.

According to A. Gurría, climate change is a global challenge demanding a global solution. The will to implement the policies that will bring us to a low-carbon future is gaining momentum. Now is the time to reach a climate agreement. Doing so will require the commitment of all stakeholders.

A l’occasion d’un sommet réunissant à Londres les acteurs clés du secteur énergétique, le Secrétaire général de l’OCDE a affirmé que les coûts liés à une réduction ambitieuse des émissions de gaz à effet de serre seraient vraisemblablement plus élevés que prévus mais resteraient bien en deçà du prix à payer en cas d’inaction. Il a plaidé pour la mise en place d’un large éventail de mesures allant de la tarification des émissions de gaz, au développement de nouvelles technologies sobre en carbone.
