“Increasing the Attractiveness of Places through Cultural Resources” is a study completed by the OECD Tourism Committee. The main documents and case studies have been summarised in the publication "The Impact of Culture on Tourism".
Two follow-up seminars disseminated and explored the outcomes: “Culture and Tourism: A Strategic Partnership” in Mexico; and “A New Design for Tourism: Culture, Tourism and Creative Industries; Driving Forces for Local Development” in Austria.

“OECD and partner countries welcome investments from SWFs as a positive force for development and global financial stability”, Mr. Gurría said in Washington on 11 October. “Taken together, the OECD guidance for recipient countries and the Santiago Principles for SWFs provide the international community with a robust framework for promoting mutual trust and confidence and reaping the full benefits of SWFs for home and host countries.”

As the financial crisis has evolved into a global economic crisis, the outlook for FDI has likewise darkened. On current trend, inflows will be down 13% and outflows by 6% by the end of the year. But, given the speed with which the global economic crisis deepened during Q3 and into Q4 of 2008, it seems likely flows will fall sharply in the second half of 2008 and continue to decline into 2009.

Selon un nouveau rapport de l’OCDE, les flux d’investissement internationaux avec la Russie ont atteint des niveaux record en 2007, avec 52 milliards USD d’entrées d’investissements directs étrangers (IDE). Néanmoins, il faudra améliorer encore le climat de l’investissement.

Réunion du NEPAD-OCDE de haut niveau: Poursuivre la réforme des politiques d’investissement en Afrique

Cette réunion, organisée en Kampala, a examiné les modalités de mise en œuvre de programmes concrets pour l’amélioration du climat de l’investissement en Afrique. Une table ronde a identifié les facteurs qui ralentissent l’investissement dans les infrastructures de transport en Afrique, en se basant sur les expériences nationales et les bonnes pratiques.
