The OECD and the Enterprise Research Institute of the Development Research Centre convened a high level meeting to exchange experience on corporate governance of state owned assets. The OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises were presented for the first time after their official adoption by the OECD in April 2005.

OECD Secretary General Donald J. Johnston will meet with Ira Millstein and other corporate governance leaders in New York on Friday 15 April 2005 to launch a Business Sector Group to give practical guidance to board members trying to improve corporate governance.

This work surveys the corporate governance framework and practices in Eurasia and identifies important corporate governance reform prorities for the region. Its conclusions are the culmination of four years of on-going deliberations by the Eurasian Roundtable on Corporate Governance.

Cet appel fait suite à une demande des gouvernements des pays de l'OCDE qui, en réaction aux scandales ayant éclaté récemment dans le monde des affaires, ont souhaité renforcer ces Principes.

The OECD has “kicked-off” its work on corporate governance of non-listed companies convening policy-makers and business-people from 36 countries around the globe. Participants exchanged concrete experiences with different corporate governance approaches and discussed what policy-makers can do to facilitate and enable non-listed companies to improve corporate governance on a voluntary basis.

The Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance launched, on May 10th in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a new Companies Circle. This is an initiative led by companies who have adopted best practices of corporate governance. Its objectives are to bring together a group of Latin American companies who have adopted best corporate governance practices to provide private sector input into the work of the Roundtable; and to share with each other and the public their experiences putting the principles of good corporate governance into practice.

The Roundtable meeting included a workshop on transparency and disclosure and related issues in implementation and enforcement; a presentation of the revised 2004 edition of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance; and reviews of corporate governance reform in Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Romania.

The second meeting of the Russian Corporate Governance Roundtable's ad hoc task force on "Transition to International Financial Reporting Standards" met in Moscow and focussed on the discussion of a draft report “Priorities for Transition to IFRS in Russia”.

The OECD presented the draft of a new report on corporate governance in the region which provides a comprehensive overview of the legal framework, actual practice and reform priorities. The meeting discussed the 2004 OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and corporate governance reform in Ukraine.
