Cet évènement a été organisé par le Programme LEED de l'OCDE en collaboration avec la Fondation Globale pour la Démocratie et le Développement (FUNGLODE) et l'Ambassade d'Italie en République Dominicaine. Les défis posés à la mise en œuvre de stratégies de développement endogène dans les Caraïbes ont été discutés et l’utilisation des systèmes productifs locaux de PME et d’entrepreneuriat comme moteurs de croissance et de développement économique local a été analysée.

This major international conference focused on academic research in Enterprise and Innovation organised by the Waikato Management School, partners of the LEED Partners' Club. The conference provided a forum for scholars from around the world to share their latest theories and research on the drivers of entrepreneurial activities in local, regional, national and global economies. Le but était de mettre en évidence les propos du projet de société européenne, dont la Stratégie de Lisbonne est l'un des pilliers. This event was a unique opportunity to debate the results of recent local governance developments in Latvia in the light of experience from other countries, analyse the main obstacles met and identify ways to progress further. In particular it compared the results obtained by new forms of governance experimented with in various parts of the Baltic Rim and addressed some critical issues related to their effectiveness in generating better economic and social outcomes.
