Les entreprises de services financiers doivent impérativement s’assurer que leurs clients comprennent ce à quoi ils s’exposent lorsqu’ils signent pour des emprunts hypothécaires, des prêts à la consommation et d’autres produits. C’est ce qu’il ressort de nouvelles lignes directrices de l’OCDE visant à éviter une répétition de la crise des prêts « subprime » et la contraction du crédit qui s’en est suivie et qui a précipité l’économie mondiale dans la récession.

The Third OECD Regional Workshop on African Debt Management and Bond Markets was held on 24-26 June 2009. The workshop provided another opportunity to African countries to discuss and debate practical market-infrastructure issues which are of major concern for debt managers in the African debt markets.

Representatives from OECD governments, academia and private sector discussed proposals to support private pension systems, and in particular, improve the management of risks in the retirement stage of individual account (defined contribution, DC) pension systems. Participants also discussed the impact of the financial crisis, and longer term issues affecting the sector such as increasing life expectancy.

A special half-day meeting of the WPDM on the implications of the crisis for debt management strategies and operations is to be held on 2 December 08 at OECD headquarters. Although the meeting is scheduled back-to-back with the 18th Annual OECD Global Forum on Public Debt Management, only members of the WPDM are invited to this special meeting.
