The OECD Competition Committee adopts Guidelines for Fighting Bid Rigging in Public Procurement

The Guidelines, which draw on the experience of more than 30 countries, provide the most comprehensive strategy available today for designing tenders to hinder bid rigging conspiracies and for uncovering existing conspiracies. They can be applied in a decentralised manner across government at both national and local levels and are simple enough for use by officials with no specialised economics or competition policy training. 

Israel joins OECD Anti-bribery Convention

On 11 March 2009, Israel became the 38th signatory to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention which outlaws bribery of foreign public officials in international business transactions. Israel’s accession to the Convention represents an important commitment to the international fight against corruption.

Dans une déclaration datée du 12 février 2009, l’OCDE, le FMI et la Banque mondiale ont souligné le besoin urgent de mesures pour restaurer les capacités de prêt des banques et la nécessité d’une relance budgétaire pour combattre la crise économique. Ces organisations ont également mis en garde les gouvernements contre des politiques protectionnistes qui ralentiraient la reprise mondiale. Cette déclaration commune fait suite à un séminaire organisé au siège de l’OCDE le 4 février 2009 pour discuter des stratégies de réponse à la crise.

High-level meeting on economic and governance policy reforms in Iraq

High-level representatives from the Government of Iraq and OECD-member countries met in Paris on 08-10 July 2008 to discuss Iraq's investment climate, anti-corruption policies and aid management -- three issues identified as priorities by Iraqi officials during prior meetings held under the framework of the International Compact with Iraq. The meeting was organised by the MENA-OECD Initiative on Governance and Investment for Development and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Iraq.
