Competition Assessment Toolkit

To eliminate barriers to competition, governments can use the approach developed in the OECD’s Competition Assessment Toolkit. The Toolkit is a method for identifying unnecessary restraints on market activities and developing alternative, less restrictive measures that still achieve government policy objectives.

OECD Council adopts Recommendation on Competition Assessment

This Recommendation calls for governments to identify existing or proposed public policies that unduly restrict competition and to revise them by adopting more pro-competitive alternatives.

En vue d'améliorer la qualité des informations publiées par les PCN, l'OCDE publie un récapitulatif des cas spécifiques dont les PCN ont été ou sont actuellement saisis.

D’après l’OCDE, les fonds de pension se redressent en 2009

Les fonds de pension ont entamé un redressement partiel pendant la première moitié de 2009, générant des retours sur investissement de 3.5 % en termes nominaux. Toutefois, au 30 juin 2009, le total des actifs des fonds de pension reste en retrait de 14% par rapport au niveau de décembre 2007, selon la dernière édition du Point sur le Marché des Pensions de l’OCDE.

2008 Survey of Investment Regulation of Pension Funds

This survey describes quantitative investment regulations on pension funds in OECD and selected non-OECD countries as of end December 2008. The information collected concerns all forms of quantitative portfolio restrictions (minima and maxima) applied to autonomous pension funds in OECD countries at different legal levels (law, regulation, industry norms, etc).

 

Private pensions need long-term, appropriate performance benchmarks

The OECD and the World Bank today announced the preliminary results of their project evaluating the financial performance of pension funds around the world.

The project aims to examine how to measure financial performance of pension funds taking into account the link between participants’ benefits to the performance of financial markets.
