At its meeting on 14 November 2007, the Steering Group on Corporate Governance agreed on a common position based on the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance about the issue of whether there should be proportionality between ownership and control (also known as one-share-one-vote) in listed companies.

Après avoir pris en considération les commentaires reçus à la suite de la consultation publique tenue du 26 juin au 1er septembre 2007, l’OCDE prévoit de publier des ''Bonnes pratiques sur l'éducation financière relative aux pensions privées', ainsi qu'un rapport analytique, dans le courant de l'année 2008.

Le Groupe de travail de l’OCDE sur la corruption dans le cadre de transactions commerciales internationales félicite la Conférence des États Parties à l’occasion de sa deuxième session pour ses réalisations importantes en matière de lutte contre la corruption, avec notamment la ratification de la Convention des Nations Unies contre la corruption (CNUC) par plus de cent pays et le travail substantiel accompli par ses divers groupes de travail.

La consultation publique du projet de lignes directrices sur l'agrément des organismes de retraite s'est terminé le 5 octobre 2007. Les commentaires reçus ont été pris en compte par l'IOPS et l'OCDE. Les resultats de la consultation publique sont maintenant disponibles.

Après avoir pris en considération les commentaires reçus à la suite de la consultation publique tenue du 26 juin au 1er septembre 2007, l’OCDE prévoit de publier des 'Bonnes pratiques pour améliorer la sensibilisation aux risques et l’éducation sur les questions d’assurance’, ainsi qu'un rapport analytique et comparatif, dans le courant de l'année 2008.

Le Groupe de travail de l'OCDE sur la corruption se déclare très préoccupé quant à la mise en œuvre par la Turquie de la Convention anticorruption de l'OCDE. La Turquie, qui est partie à la Convention depuis 2000, n'a pas encore mis en œuvre certains éléments essentiels de la Convention, notamment en ce qui concerne la responsabilité des personnes morales pour les faits de corruption d'agents publics étrangers et la mise en œuvre concrète de son infraction de corruption transnationale.

The 2004 INPRS/OECD Forum on Private Pension Reform in Emerging Economies took place in Paris, France on 12-3 July 2004. This meeting lead to the establishment of a new, formal association of pension supervisors, the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS).

The OECD presented the draft of a new report on corporate governance in the region which provides a comprehensive overview of the legal framework, actual practice and reform priorities. The meeting discussed the 2004 OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and corporate governance reform in Ukraine.

The 2nd EIR/OECD Conference on Pensions and Long-run Investments was organised at the OECD Headquarters in Paris on 2 April 2004. Over 50 guests were present, including private sector, researchers and pension regulators. The event was opened by William Witherell, Director of DAFE, OECD. The focus of the event was on pension fund investment in both DB and DC systems. The first part of the meeting focused on DB plans. Asset-liability modelling models and the implications of ageing for defined benefit plans were discussed in detail. The second half of the meeting looked at the new DC plans in Ireland, the OECD on-going work on statistical data collection and regulatory policies for private pension systems.

The Third International OECD Conference on Private Pensions in Brazil will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the 3rd and 4th of May at the Hotel Intercontinental. This seminar is jointly organised by the OECD and the Brazilian Ministries of Finance and of Pensions under the aegis of the OECD programme of the Centre for Co-operation with Non-Members. The event is co-sponsored by the government of Japan and by the National Association of Private Pension (ANAPP) of Brazil.

The 3rd Conference on Private Pensions in Asia was held in Manila, the Philippines from 30 March – 1 April 2004. These events were jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) under the aegis of the International Network of Pension Regulators and Supervisors (INPRS) activities. The events were also part of the OECD programme of the Centre for Co-operation with Non-Members, and were co-sponsored by the Government of Japan.
