Israël doit intensifier ses efforts dans le domaine de la détection, des enquêtes et des poursuites dans les affaires de corruption transnationale, notamment dans le secteur de l’industrie de la défense, préconise un nouveau rapport établi par le Groupe de travail de l’OCDE sur la corruption. Il doit également renforcer sensiblement les sanctions afin de les rendre plus efficaces et plus dissuasives.

The financial crisis has led to a strong demand for new regulation and for this to be implemented rapidly. To avoid excessive regulation, a new publication calls for increased use of Regulatory Impact Assessment in the area of corporate governance and gives a number of examples of how the technique has been applied to promote more efficient policy. Examples include both ex-ante and ex-post analysis, the approach to defining policy needs and the role of quantification.

Les pays-membres de l’OCDE et les huit autres signataires de la Convention de l’OCDE sur la lutte contre la corruption se sont engagés à intensifier leurs efforts dans ce domaine. Les 38 pays sont convenus d’adopter de nouvelles mesures afin d’accentuer leurs efforts de prévention, de détection et d’enquête en matière de corruption transnationale.

In 2009, Colombia celebrates 50 years of competition law. The Peer Review of Competition Law and Policy in Colombia , jointly published by OECD and the IDB, assesses the development and application of Colombia’s law over the last few years and the expected outcomes of its reform earlier this year. The launch of the Working Group on Taxation of the South East Europe Investment Committee on 29-30 October 2008 in Vienna recognises the sovereignty of tax policy in the consideration of policy reform prioritisation in South East Europe. The working group specifically focuses on the tax component of the Investment Reform Index to provide a basis for identifying areas where the OECD may provide technical assistance.

The 8th OECD Global Forum on Competition brought together senior competition officials from around the world to discuss the importance of competition and the role of competition authorities in the global economy, including: potential conflicts between competition policy and national champions; the impact of the informal economy on competitive markets; the balance between the public interest and competition policy in times of economic crisis; and how young competition agencies can best learn from more experienced colleagues.
