Making education reform happen

This is the time of year when a lot of us resolve to commit ourselves to self-improvement plans of greater or lesser magnitude. Spend more time reading? On the list. Eat better? Ditto. Reform the education system? Whoa—nice idea; but isn’t that a bit too ambitious? What is it about education reform that all-too-often turns resolve into sighs and resignation? If countries really want to keep that resolution, here’s a suggestion: invite teachers to get involved

Le nouveau projet du CERI Éducation et progrès social (EPS) est conçu pour analyser le rôle que jouent les aptitudes cognitives et non cognitives dans l’émergence de mesures tendant au bien-être et au progrès social dans les pays de l’OCDE, et préciser comment il est possible de favoriser l’émergence des aptitudes essentielles dans des environnements d’apprentissage formels, non formels et informels, incluant la famille, l’école et la communauté.

Cette brochure résume les travaux actuels du CERI sur la recherche dans l'enseignement pour 2011-2012 et présente les projets suivants : administration des systèmes éducatifs complexes, stratégies pour l'innovation dans l'enseignement et la formation, éducation et le progrès social, environnements pédagogiques novateurs, pédagogie innovante pour un apprentissage efficace.

This forum will contribute to the on-going debate by providing an opportunity for representatives of the most widely observed and influential University rankings to engage in an exciting and vibrant exchange with policy-makers and key higher education stakeholders on the merits and shortcomings of rankings and the uses made of them.

Le prochain événement sur les innovations qui marchent sera une conférence organisé les 5 et 6 décembre 2011 à l'Université CETYS, Mexicali, Mexique.
Cette conférence reflètera les conclusions des examens institutionnels d’IMHE sur la qualité de l’enseignement (en cours) et abordera les interrogations plus larges à l’échelle de l’institution et des politiques nationales pour le soutien à la qualité de l’enseignement et de l’apprentissage dans l’enseignement supérieur.

Save the date ! "What Works" Conference: Managing Quality Teaching in Higher Education

The next "What Works" event is a conference that will take place on 5-6 December 2011 at CETYS University, Mexicali, Mexico. The Conference will reflect on the findings of the IMHE institutional reviews on quality teaching (underway) and discuss broader issues on institution-wide and national policies supporting quality of teaching and learning in higher education.

International Summit on the Teaching Profession (New York City - March 16-17, 2011)

The U.S. Department of Education together with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Education International (EI) and U.S.-based organizations – National Education Association (NEA), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), Asia Society, and WNET will host the Summit. The summit is the first of its kind, designed to engage countries in an intensive discussion about promising practices for recruiting, preparing, developing, supporting, retaining, evaluating, and compensating world-class teachers.

Lancement du projet sur la gestion d'internationalisation

La nouvelle initiative d’IMHE sur la gestion de l’internationalisation sera lancée lors d’un atelier qui se tiendra le vendredi 1er avril 2001 au Centre de Conférence de l’OCDE.

La question fondamentale est : Qu’est-ce qui pour vous est /sont les plus importantes, les plus utiles interrogations que l’IMHE doit se poser dans le domaine de la gestion de l’internationalisation ?

Cette réunion est ouverte exclusivement aux membres d’IMHE.

OECD 2011 Higher Education in Regions Conference 10 -11 February 2011, Seville, Spain
