Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Development Co-operation

This policy guidance provides essential information and advice on mainstreaming climate change adaptation into development. The objectives are to: i) promote understanding of the implications of climate change on development practice and the need to mainstream adaptation in development co-operation; ii) identify appropriate approaches for integrating adaptation into development policies at national, sectoral, project levels and at local contexts; and iii) identify practical ways for donors to support developing country partners in reducing their vulnerability to climate change.

The OECD convened an expert workshop on Innovative International Financing for Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable use on July 2nd, 2009. The workshop was attended by more than 40 participants, including delegates from the OECD Working Group on the Economic Aspects of Biodiversity (WGEAB), developing country participants (including Brazil, Peru and Uganda), experts from the CBD, IUCN, UNEP and the GEF, as well as other NGOs and the private sector.

Frequently Asked Questions about the OECD QSAR Application Toolbox

A first set of Frequently Asked Questions about the OECD QSAR Application Toolbox is now available. The (Q)SAR Application Toolbox is a software application intended to be used by governments, industry and other stakeholders to fill gaps in (eco)toxicity data needed for assessing the hazards of chemicals. The questions address a number of topics such as regulatory acceptance, content and quality of databases, contribution from stakeholders as well as installation and troubleshooting.

It explored business opportunities under MEAs and new ways to engage business in MEA implementation.

INECE-OECD Workshop on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Indicators

Responding to growing worldwide interest in developing and applying environmental compliance and enforcement indicators, the OECD and the INECE organised, on 3rd and 4th November, 2003 in Paris, a workshop which assisted enforcement agencies in designing enforcement and compliance indicators and using them for agencies’ performance assessment.
