The documentation for the 2008 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration is now available in English and French, and Spanish and can be downloaded on the dedicated website . Fifty-six countries have confirmed that they will be undertaking this survey. The survey is to be carried out between 2 January - 31 March 2008.

55 countries have confirmed their participation in the 2008 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration that is rolled out between January and March 2008.

34 countries that receive aid participated in a groundbreaking survey to measure the effectiveness of aid. Generally encouraging, the results show that developing countries and donors are working hard to made aid work better.

The World Bank has launched an Aid Effectiveness Review 2006 coordinated with the 2006 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration. This review will contribute to the monitoring of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and establish the 2006 baseline for indicators 1 and 11. It will provide a qualitative assessment of progress for the other 10 Paris Indicators. Individual country profiles, that form the backbone of this review, are posted on the website. Comments are welcome before August 15, 2006.

The scope of this study is to assess the importance of incentive systems internal to aid agencies in their efforts to deliver on the commitments made in the Rome Declaration on Harmonisation. It looks at different factors which influence individual and collective behaviour in aid agencies, and discusses whether these work for or against the adoption of harmonised practices and of the new paradigm in development cooperation based on donor coordination and country ownership.
