National Investment Reform Agendas for Morocco, Jordan, Egypt and United Arab Emirates

These reports were prepared on the occasion of National Investment Reform agenda workshops for Morocco, Jordan, Egypt and United Arab Emirates, which reviewed the progress in implementation of investment policy reform on topics selected as a priority by each government. They contain the summary of the workshop proceedings as well as short policy papers prepared by the MENA-OECD Investment Programme on the themes addressed during the workshops.

Establishment of the Moroccan National Commission on Corporate Governance

The MENA-OECD Investment Programme, together with its partners from the Global Corporate Governance Forum and the International Finance Corporation welcomes the establishment of the Commission, which has announced its plans to draft a national Code on Corporate Governance by the end of the year.  The launch of such a codification process was one of the recommendations emerging from the National Investment Reform Agenda meeting held in November 2006 in Rabat, in the framework of the MENA-OECD Investment Programme.

Jordanian Minister and high-level delegation visit the OECD Secretary General

On 30th January 2007, a high level Jordanian visit to Paris was conducted by His Excellency Mr. Salim Al Khazaaleh, Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Maen Nsour, CEO of the Jordan Investment Board, Dr. Mohammad Abu Hammour, Chairman of the Executive Privatisation Commission, and Mr. Saleh Al Kilani, Commissioner of Investment for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.


Events

Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia are the focus of OECD business climate development strategies

The MENA-OECD Investment Programme, in co-operation with the World Bank, has launched the process of devising comprehensive business climate development strategies for Egypt and Morocco (scheduled for release in November 2009) and Tunisia (2010) to support the reform prioritisation and implementation process in these countries.

MENA Investment Programme at the Carthage Investment Forum

The MENA-OECD Investment Programme participated in the Carthage Investment Forum, which was organised by FIPA Tunisia and held in Hammamet, Tunisia on 24 and 25 June 2009.

Financing SME growth in the MENA region

On 19 May 2009 the Working Group on SME Policy, Entrepreneurship and Human Capital Development of the MENA-OECD Investment Programme brought together officials, policy experts and members of the private sector to address policies that promote the development and growth of SMEs.

Promoting private sector leadership through the MENA 100 conference and MENA-OECD Business Council
