Pension Funds Investment in Infrastructure: A Survey

The objective of this survey-based study was to understand the main problems encountered by pension funds when investing in infrastructure. In order to do so, a brief analysis of the evolution of the infrastructure and pension fund market in each selected country was undertaken. On the basis of the barriers to investment identified in the study some policy initiatives are proposed.

There are a growing number of tools available for screening climate change risks and integrating adaptation into development planning processes. Building on the experiences of users and developers, this paper assesses the extent to which tools meet users’ needs. It provides options for reducing fragmentation and duplication: these include providing common guidance on specific topics and by clarifying the diverse terminology used.

Removing fossil fuel subsidies in non-OECD countries would increase global trade volumes by 0.1% by 2020, according to this report on the impact on international trade of phasing out fossil fuel consumption subsidies provided mainly by developing and emerging economies.

This paper looks at measures relating to non-product-related processes and production methods (PPMs), particularly those linked to the greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions of the resulting products. The paper gives an overview of measures taken in the United States, the European Union, Canada and other countries.
