G8 Labour and Employment Ministers provide strong support for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

G8 Labour and Employment Ministers met in Dresden on 6-8 May 2007 to discuss the opportunities and challenges that globalisation brings with it for the working world. In referring to the contribution companies can make to shaping the social dimension of globalisation, the G8 Chair's conclusions strongly emphasised the role of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

Human rights, alternative dispute resolution and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

It was prepared for a workshop on "Accountability and Dispute Resolution" organised by Harvard's Kennedy School in support of work in this area by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General on Business & Human Rights.

OECD welcomes China's new enterprise tax and property laws

OECD publishes list of measures reported for transparency under the National Treatment instrument

Adherents to the OECD Declaration on International Investment and Multinational Enterprises undertake to notify the Organisation of all measures which have a bearing on National Treatment. This report publishes the country lists of measures other than “exceptions to national treatment” notified for transparency purposes as of February 2007. 

Bovespa awards OECD for supporting Corporate Governance improvements in Brazil

OECD and the Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance were recognized as being among the five main institutional supporters of Bovespa's Novo Mercado in a ceremony on March 1, 2007 . Bovespa was celebrating the 100th company to join the special corporate governance listing segments of the trading board. OECD has been providing advice and support since the first Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance was held in Brazil in April 2000, the same year the Novo Mercado was launched.

Establishment of a Network of public and private sector experts for on-going dialogue on insolvency

FAIR partner organisations and participants are in favour of intensifying information sharing and co-operation on capacity building through the establishment of a FAIR Network of public and private sector experts for on-going dialogue on insolvency. 
The proposed regional Network is a key for ensuring sustainability of the outcomes of the FAIR meetings and the relevance of its future work.

Credit Risk and Credit Access in Asia

7th Meeting of the Russian Corporate Governance Roundtable

Company Leaders Launch Latin American Corporate Governance Initiative

The Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance launched, on May 10th in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a new Companies Circle. This is an initiative led by companies who have adopted best practices of corporate governance. Its objectives are to bring together a group of Latin American companies who have adopted best corporate governance practices to provide private sector input into the work of the Roundtable; and to share with each other and the public their experiences putting the principles of good corporate governance into practice.

Expert Workshop on “Fostering Development through Entrepreneurship, Clusters and Local Initiatives”, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

MENA-OECD (Middle East and North Africa) Investment Steering Group Meeting

NEPAD/OECD Investment Policy Roundtable on Investment for African Development: Making it Happen

OECD Consultative Meeting with non-member countries on the Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Assets
