OECD Guidelines feature in UN Special Representative’s survey of business practices

The UN Secretary General’s Special Representative on business and human rights has just published a survey of the human rights practices of the Fortune Global 500 companies. The survey results include information on the Global 500 companies’ references to external instruments, including to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

A new Risk Awareness Tool for Multinational Enterprises in Weak Governance Zones from the OECD is designed to help them.

OECD posts responses to the public consultation on a Policy Framework for Investment (PFI)

Private investment is crucial for sustainable economic development. The PFI aims to assist governments in their efforts to create a healthy policy environment for domestic and foreign investments, taking into account the broader interests of the communities in which investors operate. Between 16 January and 22 February 2006, the public’s views were sought through an online consultation on the draft text of the PFI and avenues for future use.
