Inter-American Development Bank & LEED Programme Co-operation

Conference on From Co-operative to Social Enterprise, Trento, Italy, 19-20 December 2003

This international seminar, is jointly promoted by ISSAN and the EMES Network, in partnership with the LEED Programme. It aims at exploring the evolution of the co-operative form from a mutuality tradition towards a new model with a large participation, by focusing on some national co-operative experiences.

Inauguration of the OECD LEED Centre for Local Development in Trento, Italy, 6 December 2003

On 11th June 2003, the OECD Council decided to establish, in co-operation with the Italian Government and the Autonomous Province of Trento, an OECD LEED Centre for Local Development in Trento. The Centre was inaugurated last 6 December. First meeting of the Steering Group on Global Infrastructure Needs: Prospects and Implications for Public and Private Actors

The first meeting of the Steering Group on Future Global Infrastructure Needs took place at OECD Headquarters on 3rd June 2005.  It was organised by the OECD’s International Futures Programme (IFP), and brought together 25 high-level government officials and business executives involved in various infrastructure-related activities.

Conference on Social Economy: The Leading Actor for Social Cohesion and the Lisbon Strategy, Luxembourg

This event was organised by the Luxembourg Social Economy Platform in collaboration with the LEED Programme.  It brought together numerous social economy representatives from the 25 Member States of the EU and international experts.  The conference aimed to emphasise the main ideas on social economy in the context of the Lisbon Strategy.

Forum Meeting on "Enhancing the Effectiveness of Partnerships", Vienna, Austria

Seminar on "Employment, Economic Development and Local Governance in Lithuania", Vilnius

Seminar on "Employment, Economic Development and Local Governance in Latvia", Riga

This event was a unique opportunity to debate the results of recent local governance developments in Latvia in the light of experience from other countries, analyse the main obstacles met and identify ways to progress further.  In particular it compared the results obtained by new forms of governance experimented with in various parts of the Baltic Rim and addressed some critical issues related to their effectiveness in generating better economic and social outcomes.
