Presentation of the OECD "REGPAT" database

This database presents patent data linked to regions according to the addresses of the applicants and inventors. The data have been regionalised at a very detailed level so that over 2000 regions are covered across OECD countries. REGPAT allows patent data to be used in connection with other regional data, thus providing researchers with the means to develop a rich set of new indicators and undertake a broad range of analyses to address the regional dimension of innovation.

Progress in Nuclear Physics should be a global response to recognized scientific challenges, using an optimal set of national and regional facilities. To achieve this, funding agency programme managers, laboratory officials, representatives of advisory bodies, and the scientific community met to discuss the future of the field.  Their report identifies the major challenges in the field, and describes a global-scale roadmap of national and regional facilities. Recommendations for actions are addressed to the funding agencies and to the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics.

OECD, World Bank to step up co-operation on sustainable growth, climate change, innovation and other topics

This document briefly reviews recent developments in the space sector (spring 2005-spring 2007) through the prism of the OECD IFP recommendations presented in the publication “Space 2030: Tackling Society’s Challenges”.

Third Meeting of the Lifelong Learning Network

from 21-Jan-2005 to 22-Feb-2005

The 3rd meeting of the Lifelong Learning network of OECD/CERI’s Learning Sciences and Brain Research project took place at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Wako-Shi, Saitama, Japan on 21-22 January 2005. The meeting brought together some 30 experts, mixing neuroscience and educational researchers with a few practitioners and policymakers. Participants were present from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, UK and USA.
