Tractors: Expanding safety standards worldwide – experts meet 23-24 February 2012

The Annual Meeting of the OECD Tractor Codes will look at ensuring technical aspects of the tests are adapted to the latest machinery and conditions; promote effective implementation of the standards and develop communication and cooperation with all interested bodies.

Experts, manufacturers and government officials meeting in Paris this week reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining safety standards in farm machinery by expanding and updating the OECD’s harmonised tests and codes. China, India and Russia are among the 26 countries which adhere to the OECD’s Tractor Codes.

This document dealing with biological pesticides is intended to provide guidance to both industry and regulatory authorities, in the context of applications for the approval of microbial biological control agents (mBCAs), and for the registration of microbial biological control products (mBCPs). This document has been developed in the framework of the OECD BioPesticides Steering Group, a sub-group of the OECD Working Group on Pesticides, that helps member countries harmonise the methods and approaches used to assess biological pesticides and to improve the efficiency of control procedures.
