Revised OECD Guidelines on Insurer Governance

The OECD has released revised Guidelines on Insurer Governance following a comprehensive review and public consultations. The Guidelines are intended to provide guidance and serve as a reference point for insurers, governmental authorities, and other relevant stakeholders in OECD and non-OECD countries.

Accountability and Transparency Guide for State Ownership

Defining effective policies in the area of corporate governance

The financial crisis has led to a strong demand for new regulation and for this to be implemented rapidly. To avoid excessive regulation, a new publication calls for increased use of Regulatory Impact Assessment in the area of corporate governance and gives a number of examples of how the technique has been applied to promote more efficient policy. Examples include both ex-ante and ex-post analysis, the approach to defining policy needs and the role of quantification.

Study of temporary government ownership / control in the Financial Crisis

Revised recommendations for the 10th Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance

Taking into account corporate governance lessons from the global financial crisis, the Latin American Roundtable on Corporate Governance concluded its 10th annual meeting by agreeing in principle to a revised set of recommendations aimed at encouraging institutional investors to exercise their ownership rights responsibly and promote better corporate governance of companies in the region.

Third Annual Conference of the Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIOD), Cairo, Egypt
