2007 ASU : Annual Reset of MPRs for CAT 2 and 3 Aircraft

ASU Minimum Premium Rates (MPRs) for Category 2 and 3 Aircraft have been reset. These reset MPRs replace Table 2 a) and Table 2 b) of Appendix III of the Aircraft Sector Understanding (2007 ASU) and are applicable as of 15 April 2012.

Margin Benchmark for civil aircraft

The Margin benchmark applicable as of 15 April 2012 has been published. It shall be applied to all official financing support for export credits for civil aircraft pursuant to Article 8 of Appendix III of the 2011 Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Civil Aircraft (the 2011 ASU), annexed to the 2011 Arrangement for Officially Supported Export Credits (the Arrangement).

2011 ASU: Quarterly Update of MRS and Resulting MPRs

Market Reflective Surcharge (MRS) and resulting Minimum Premium Rates (MPRs) have been updated. These updated MPRs replace Table 5 of Appendix II of the Aircraft Sector Understanding (2011 ASU) and are applicable as of 15 April 2012.

Development: Aid to developing countries decreases because of global recession

Major donors’ aid to developing countries fell by nearly 3% in 2011, breaking a long trend of annual increases.  Disregarding years of exceptional debt relief, this was the first dropfall since 1997.  Continuing tight budgets in OECD countries will put pressure on aid levels in coming years.

Corruption: Hungary has improved legal framework for fighting foreign bribery, but must do more to detect and prosecute

Hungary’s law banning bribery of foreign public officials is relatively good on paper but lacks effective application, according to a new OECD report. Hungary must strengthen detection and prosecution of individuals and companies involved in foreign bribery.

UK increases enforcement of foreign bribery, but concerns remain about transparency and resources

The United Kingdom has significantly boosted its foreign bribery enforcement efforts but needs to be more transparent when resolving cases. The opaque process and low level of information available about  settlements may fail to instil public and judicial confidence, according to a new OECD report.
