The OECD workshop on 27 May took the view that there is much to be gained from a completion of the Doha round of negotiations, but that having strong institutions and appropriate flanking policies beyond the field of trade is equally important as they can help to smooth the transition to a more global economy.

OECD Forum in Berlin - "International Perspectives for Growth and Employment"

On 24 & 25 March, the OECD and the German Ministry for Economics and Labour met in Berlin with representatives from business, labour, civil society and the media to bring an international perspective to the reform agenda that is currently in the forefront of the German policy discussion.  OECD Secretary-General Donald J. Johnston and German Minister for Economy and Labour, Wolfgang Clement, opened the Forum, which looked at progress in economic reform that Germany has already made, steps that still need to be taken, and what can be learned from the experiences of other OECD countries.

Parents, Teachers, Students join Education Ministers in Ethnic Diversity Discussion

Representatives from the International Commission on Mathematic Instruction, the National Parents Council Primary, the European Parents Association, the International Council of Associations for Science Education and the International Union of Students took part in the OECD Forum on Education and Social Cohesion in Dublin 18 March 2004. Participants discussed the growing ethnic diversity of populations and how to ensure that a high quality education is available to all.

Review of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance - Comments Received

06-Feb-2004

Comments were received on the draft revised text of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance from more than 70 individuals, national and international organisations, including the International Corporate Governance Network, Standard and Poors, the International Federation of Accountants, Institutes of Internal Auditors, and others. The comment period is now over. Comments received can be downloaded.
