OECD invites five countries to membership talks, offers enhanced engagement to other big players

OECD countries agreed to invite Chile, Estonia, Israel, Russia and Slovenia to open discussions for membership of the Organisation and offered enhanced engagement, with a view to possible membership, to Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and South Africa.

The OECD Convention

establishing the OECD was signed in Paris on 14 December 1960. The Convention is complemented by various protocols relating to the privileges and immunities of the Organisation and to the status of the European Community within the OECD.
