Ministerial meeting on regional development

The OECD will hold a Ministerial-level meeting entitled 'Investing for Growth: Building Innovative Regions' on 31 March 2009.  The meeting will be held at the OECD Headquarters in Paris and will be chaired by Ms. Mari Kiviniemi, Minister of Public Administration and Local Government, Finland.

Competitive Cities and Climate Change

This high-level event, was jointly organised by the OECD, the Milan City Council and the Province of Milan. It brought together ministers, mayors, eminent personalities from the Club of Madrid (former Heads of States and Governments), prominent experts, and representatives of international organisations and government networks, to examine one of the key global challenges facing cities today - climate change.  The conference looked at the relationships between urbanisation and climate change, and the implications of urban policy making in relation to competitiveness objectives.
