This analytical report was prepared to facilitate discussion at the OECD Committee on Consumer Policy’s Roundtable on consumer product safety, held on 23 October 2008. It describes consumer product safety frameworks at domestic, regional and international levels. It also identifies the cross-border challenges in consumer product safety co-operation and co-ordination mechanisms.

This report summarizes the discussion at the Roundtable on consumer product safety, held on 23 October 2008. It describes each session of the Roundtable with its discussions, identifying issues and challenges of the international consumer product safety policy and enforcement. From the fruitful discussion at the Roundtable, a number of conclusions and steps forward in the product safety area was proposed.

High-level OECD Conference ICTs, Environment and Climate Change
from 27-May-2009 to 28-May-2009
The Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation will host a high-level OECD Conference on how ICTs can improve environmental performance and mitigate climate change in all sectors of the economy. One of the sessions will address the role of ICTs for sustainable consumption, and will highlight the importance of consumer protection and education in this respect. The event will gather representative from governments, business, and consumer organisations.
