Piracy of Digital Content

This new book covers the piracy of content, such as music, films and software that does not involve the use of physical media; in other words essentially piracy over the Internet. The study highlights the unique market characteristics of digital piracy where large number of suppliers are willing to provide pirated content at virtually zero price. This poses new and difficult challenges to copyright owners and policy makers.

OECD Steel Committee sees market recovery beginning end 2009 at earliest

The gobal economic crisis has led to a sharp contraction in steel production, consumption, prices and jobs. According to industry and government officials at the OECD’s Steel Committee meeting in Paris on 8-9 June 2009, conditions for a recovery in demand could begin to be seen towards the end of the year.

66th Session of the OECD Steel Committee 8-9 June 2009

Senior Government officials and industry representatives from major Steel-producing economies met in Paris on 8-9 June in the context of the OECD Steel Committee. They assessed the impact of the global economic crisis on industrial sectors and, in particular, on the steel market.

OECD Shipbuilding Workshop with non-OECD economies and industry

This Workshop examined supply/demand and price/cost developments in the shipbuilding market, including the impacts of the current global economic crisis.  It also explored the changing structure of the world’s shipbuilding industry, and both governments and industry had the opportunity of discussing what responses can be made to deal with the challenges created by the market and structural changes. Workshop on steel and related raw materials
