OECD Reviews of Labour Market and Social Policies Serbia: A Labour Market in Transition

To catch up with more advanced economies, Serbia urgently needs to improve the functioning of its labour market. Despite many reforms, new business growth until now has been far too slow to compensate for job losses elsewhere.

The OECD Family database is LIVE

The Family database (via www.oecd.org/els/social/family/database) is being developed to include cross-national information on family outcomes and policies as categorised under 4 broad headings: the structure of families, families and children, the labour market position of families, public policies for families and children, and child outcomes.
Development of the database is an ongoing process, the first batch of indicators on policies and outcomes has been released.

Benefits and Wages 2007 - OECD Indicators

Benefits and Wages 2007, the fifth issue of a series of publications previously entitled Benefit Systems and Work Incentives, is now available. This volume provides results for 2005 as well as comparisons with earlier years. All main indicators shown in previous editions are updated accordingly.

Statistics, country specific files and tax-benefit models and calculator, which provide detailed descriptions of all cash benefits available to those in and out of work as well as the taxes they were liable to pay in 29 OECD countries from 2005. "Benefits and Wages (2007) " is now available. 

Life-expectancy links: The quiet revolution in pension policy (Media Briefing)

Continuous growth in life expectancy, often at a more rapid rate than forecast, creates financial challenges for retirement-income systems. Most countries have responded with pension reforms to contain rising pension costs. Around two-thirds of reforms will automatically link future pensions to changes in life expectancy. 

OECD Employment Outlook 2007

It addresses labour markets in the BRICs; the impact of labour market policies on productivity; the vulnerability of workers in the global economy; the financing of social protection; anf the way countries activate the unemployed.

Pensions at a Glance: Public Policies across OECD Countries - Edition 2007

The 2007 edition of Pensions at a Glance has been published in May. It presents a consistent framework for comparing public-pension policies across OECD countries, as well as reliable data. The report provides the basis for not only evaluating existing pension systems, but also designing and implementing future reforms.

Seminar on the Life Risks, Life Course and Social Policy

Identify how social and economic goals can best be achieved, for example by policy interventions at certain critical "transition points" or by redistribution of income from one point in the life course to another. How assess the best way of financing social policies across the life course. These issues were discussed by a range of experts and policy makers at a seminar held on Thursday 31 May - Friday 1st June 2007 in Paris.
