Strengthening Chilean regions to boost the economy

To date Chilean regions have not fully utilised their assets and reached their growth potential thus limiting Chile’s capacity for growth. The OECD Territorial Review of Chile recommends for Chile a stronger regional approach to economic development in order to better exploit the different opportunities of regions and to improve the country’s overall performance.

Developing Rural Policies to Meet the Needs of a Changing World

The Annual OECD Rural Development Conference was this year held in Quebec, Canada. Combining a series of workshops, exhibits and field visits, this broad ranging conference looked at rural policy in relation to a vast array of sectors including forestry, energy, climate change, tourism and more.  It focused on responding to the financial crisis and recession in rural areas.

The Implementation of the EU Service Directive

Building a Cleaner World: Tools and Good Practices for Fostering a Culture of Integrity

The Secretary-General of the OECD, Angel Gurria, and Siim Kallas, EC Commissioner for Administrative Affairs, Audit and Anti-fraud will outline the main challenges and strategies for greater government integrity, transparency and accountability. This Global Forum on Public Governance will map risks of corruption, particularly related to public procurement, lobbying and conflict of interest.

Workshop on Innovative Rural Public Service Design and Delivery
