The Metropolitan Montreal study by OECD addresses the competitiveness and governance questions facing this metropolitan region. It shows that despite significant progress in terms of employment and growth, Montreal ranks only 44th in regards to real GDP per capita out of the 65 largest OECD metropolitan regions due to a lower level of productivity. Montreal will have to co-ordinate and streamline its local and metropolitan governance if it hopes to become a player in the competitive world of international business.

The Territorial Review of the Czech Republic analyses growth factors and obstacles to territorial development in that country, with specific recommendations in different areas. It takes into account the unique geographic location of the Czech Republic, in the heart of the new Europe, and the promising signs of development of major urban centres but also of medium sized towns acting as economic and service hubs for surrounding rural areas.
