L’État de Veracruz : l’étude thématique sur l’enseignement supérieur dans le développement régional est désormais disponible

Avec une population de presque 7 millions d’habitants, Veracruz est le troisième état le plus peuplé du Mexique. Veracruz dispose d'une économie traditionnelle, basée sur les ressources, avec une population peu qualifiée, et un taux élevé de pauvreté. Ce rapport met en avant comment Veracruz s’est transformé, d’une région sous performante, en retard à un centre de connaissance et d’innovation.

La Catalogne est le principal contributeur  économique de l’Espagne. Pendant longtemps, elle  a amené des investissements stratégiques dans la recherche et le développement en Espagne et développé des programmes remarquables pour attirer des talents. La région a également une identité propre avec son propre langage et son héritage culturel unique. La Catalogne ressent à présent les effets de la crise économique. Ce rapport souligne comment la Catalogne peut se préparer à l’après crise économique avec l’aide du système universitaire.

Rankings and the Reshaping of Higher Education - new publication

In 2006, IMHE and the International Association of Universities (IAU) sponsored a study examining how HEIs are responding to higher education rankings and their impact or influence on key stakeholders. Phase 2 was launched in 2008 with focus on institutional and stakeholder views of the impact of rankings.

Interest in rankings has continued unabated and Ellen Hazelkorn has now written Rankings and the Reshaping of Higher Education: The Battle for World-Class Excellence, the first comprehensive study of rankings from a global perspective.

OECD Thematic Review on Migrant Education - Second Meeting of National Experts, Paris

Meeting Summary - Addressing the Challenges of Policy Implementation in Education (OECD Education Policy Committee meeting at CEO level)

Chief executive officers of the education ministries of OECD member countries met in Seoul, Korea on 2-3 September 2008 to discuss Addressing the Challenges of Policy Implementation in Education. They were joined by education CEOs from several non-member countries and representatives of international organisations. The meeting, chaired by Woo Hyung-Sik, Korea’s Vice Minister of Education, Science and Technology, generated insights into effective strategies to implement education policy reform and explored the processes of policy formulation and implementation.

Trends Shaping Education

The new OECD book "Trends Shaping Education" looks at specific impacts on schooling of things happening elsewhere in our lives, from climate change and the growth of the Internet to changing lifestyles and family structures.
