Quebec has just published a best practice guide to maintaining ventilation systems, aimed at the physical resources managers of the network of school boards. This 64-page document, which is tailored to the school environment, is now available in PDF format on the Quebec Ministry of Education, Leisure and Sport website.

The emergence of digital native learners has major potential implications for education. The objective of the NML is to analyse this new generation of learners and understand their expectations and attitudes. The impact of digital technologies on cognitive skills and on learning expectations, and the evolution of social values and lifestyles are important issues.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to John Mayfield who passed away last November in Australia. John was chairman of the PEB Steering Committee from 1985 to 1988, and he remained an active supporter of our work. John will be remembered for his charismatic personality and important contribution to education both in Australia and worldwide and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

PEB Launches Facility Performance Evaluation Pilot Study

In 2007, PEB will launch a Facility Performance Evaluation Pilot Study, involving five countries. The broad purpose of this pilot study is to provide key stakeholders in educational facilities with tools, information and analyses to evaluate quality in relation to their facilities’ capacity to enrich and facilitate the educational process.
